Speaker: Dr. Joel Barker, Byrd Polar Research Center, The Ohio State University

A presentation on interactions between Earth’s plant life and our planet’s climate with a specific focus on the Arctic. Where on Earth can you find three-million-year-old wood? How have past changes in climate affected plant life on Earth? Why is the current trend in climate considered different from past trends?

This event was part of the Climate Explorations series of events held during Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 to communicate the science of climate change and its impacts on the Central Ohio community.

Climate Explorations is funded by an OSU CARES grant.
